We’re excited to be your one-stop-shop for all the review platforms! To help you read and reply to Google reviews from our platform, we need a permission from Google called "business.manage."

We know the wording can sound scary—Google’s screen will say we can "edit and delete your listings." That’s not what we’re doing, and we’ll explain why this permission is required and how we keep things safe.

Why we need this permission

Google only offers one type of access for working with reviews: business.manage. This is a broad permission that includes reading reviews and posting replies — but could also include editing business info.

Even though the permission is broad, we only use it to help you manage your reviews. We will not edit or delete any other aspect of your Google Business.

Data transparency

• We will never edit or delete your listings. In fact, our platform doesn’t even have the capabilities to do that.
• We keep a secure record of every action we take in case you ever want to check what happened.

Manager access to Loyalist

• If you’d like an added layer of safety, you can invite us as a Manager on your Google Business account—not an Owner or Primary Owner account. Please ask your Loyalist point of contact for the right email to add. You can add our account here.
• Manager accounts can read and reply to reviews but cannot edit or delete your business listing. This ensures Loyalist never has the ability to make changes to your listing, even though the Google permission text looks broad.
• You can remove our access anytime in Google Business Profile Manager → Settings → People and access.

We’ll switch to less access when Google allows it

Google is working on more specific permissions across their products. As soon as they let apps like ours request access just for reviews, we’ll switch over right away and update your account.
